One of the reasons I love homeschooling

This morning I gave Erika a math problem that involved figuring out possible combinations of things -- in this case, the six ways you can put three different colored horizontal stripes on a flag.

Anyway, after she did it, she wandered over to our wall map, which has flags printed below the map, and figured out which countries actually had the flags she'd colored in this assignment. I love that there was time to do this.



Then we discussed the location of ancient Sumer, since we were at the map anyway...

Is she doing cursive already? (And that looks like German cursive to me, at least on top - does she use different cursive styles for English and German texts, or the same for each?)

She wanted to learn cursive, so I taught her German cursive over the summer.

Many different styles of cursive are taught here, and it's not taught at all in the local public schools, so I figured she might as well learn a form of cursive that would be useful in her Saturday school program. Her teacher this year is very impressed. :-)

Repeats every 1 day was not intuitive to me what the scenod box was for. At first, I assumed it was how many days it would repeat and I was thinking this is a bad way to set the number of days. I am not sure the Repeats every n days is worth having on there.-Is never the right default for when the entry ends? I would suggest that if its daily, the following day would be a good default 2 day events are more common than never ending events. If its weekly, maybe never is the right default but indefinitely is probably the more accurate term. It repeats until we cancel it, but we aren't sure when that will be, so its indefinite.

Uhoh. What epicly bad thing did they do? I don't pay atoentitn much till they do something like break my layout (which they did recently).I too have many old locked posts, and don't care for the direction they've been taking LJ. Did something in particular make you want to move, Flew?
